Postoperative course
No dressing is necessary, and a follow-up consultation with the doctor takes place the day after the procedure. An edema in the grafted area may appear within 24 to 48 hours following the procedure. It quickly migrates to the forehead and eyelids, giving them a swollen appearance, then disappears after 3 to 4 days. Crusts and redness last only five days. Shampooing can be used only four days after the transplant. Three to seven days are needed for the patient to resume activities, and three weeks must pass before resuming any physical activity. The scars are so fine that they are undetectable to the naked eye once the hair length is 5 to 7 mm.
Postoperative follow-up
1. During the stay:
The dressing is replaced with a compression garment that must be worn by the patient for a few weeks.
The surgeon checks that the edema subsides properly and that there is no bleeding at the scar site.
2. After returning home:
Your surgeon will follow up with the patient beyond the hospitalization period. The surgeon will be available, even remotely, for any questions the patient may have.
